🥃BARREL RELEASE FRIDAY🥃

We are supremely excited to be launching our latest barrel pick this Friday 10am at both stores! It's a mind-blowing Double Oaked Tobacco Stave finished Bourbon from Pursuit Spirits! The price is crazy for a whiskey this good!

We visited the Pursuit Spirits owners Ryan and Kenny last summer prior to them even having distribution in Illinois and sat down and had a rousing meeting and tasted some of the many excellent things they were cooking up! We were immediately drawn to this one barrel in a truly remarkable lineup and HAD to have it! Ryan kept saying these were showing as butterscotch bombs and he was CORRECT! The tobacco staves had been in the Independent Stave Company cooperage-made barrel for a few months at the time, and ultimately stayed in for a longer than normal 9 months, imparting rich flavors enhancing the bourbon event further.

Strap in for these notes!

Across the nose you may detect rich maple, butterscotch and cigar shop. On the palate it starts as an absolute butterscotch 💣BOMB💣, enhanced with additional notes of Sweet pipe tobacco, vanilla custard, and a lovely hint of black walnut bitters. The finish has a SEVERELY enticing spicy maple note and is both long lasting and very evenly balanced. With subsequent sips, you may notice the tobacco notes subtly and happily becoming more prominent. 🤤 The empty glass is *unmatched*, exuding decadent sweet fresh tobacco leaves and warm maple syrup. Truly....an amazing pour!

We have TWO Whiskeyfest events coming up, the first of which is next month on Saturday April 18th from 2-5pm at our Glen Ellyn store!

Plan on joining us for pours from OVER 70 outstanding whiskeys across more than a fifteen vendors!! We'll also be having a special one day raffle Saturday for the right to buy several extremely sought after bottles as well! Simply buy a bottle from the tasting and you can put in a ticket!
