SATURDAY BARREL RELEASE!

INCOMING BARREL PICK with this Bowman Brothers barrel from our friends at Buffalo Trace! We'll be releasing this deliciousness THIS SATURDAY, August 2nd at both stores! 🗓️

For anyone wondering, Bowman Brothers is "rumored"(it is 🤐🤟) to be Buffalo Trace produced bourbon brought from Kentucky to the A Smith Bowman distillery in Virginia (also owned by parent company Sazerac), distilled once more on their smaller still and aged in Virginia for the rest of it's life before being picked for us to share! This is also one of the few barrel picks we do that are under $40, and at such a high level of quality too - it's an absolute STEAL! (Nerd note: It's Buffalo mashbill #1 (used in Buffalo Trace, Eagle Rare, and Benchmark), and Mashbill #2 (which is the whiskey used in Blanton's and Elmer T Lee) distilled twice at Buffalo Trace, blended together in secret proportions, and redistilled a third time in Bowman's custom copper still in Virginia)

This is a real rarity, it is a distiller's pick that they say was such a honey barrel that it had to be separated from the rest! Despite the label saying "Small Batch" it IS a single barrel. They do them so rarely they don't even have a label for it, but just the awesome metal personalized medallion to denote it's a pick!

We had a lovely email from Distiller David Bock explaining further - it was aged in a char #4 barrel for JUST over 8 years (barreled May 19, 2017).

"It aged in our warehouse A1 for the majority of its time. This warehouse is below grade so it doesn’t get as many temperature swings leading to slow aging and a stronger development of flavors. Our standard Bowman Brothers is aged 6 years so this was a truly unique barrel. I hope they enjoy it!"

From first pop, we were entranced by the creamy quality that *somehow* comes across on the nose, which also has lovely baking spices and fruit pastries.

The palate showcases wonderful baked cherry 🍒 notes, a delectable clovy cinnamon note along with hot caramel sauce. All of this with a very thick thick mouthfeel - especially outstanding for a 90 proof whiskey! It is so flavorful and creamy we are blown away! 🤤

LISLE WINE TO GO!

We explore Eastern Spain in this week's WINE TO GO 3 Packs at Malloy's Finest Lisle. From Barcelona to Valencia, discover some of Spain's signature wines.
